Hello, I’m Jason.

Jason Spangler

A staff software engineer and freelance web developer in Greater Chattanooga.

I’m a Staff Software Engineer at Nintex, based in the Greater Chattanooga area. I work on frontend platforms, React design systems, and AI-assisted product development.

My work at Nintex and Skuid dates back to April 2017. After several years in engineering management, I moved into a staff engineering role in March 2026 to focus on platform architecture, product development, and developer experience.

Websites for local businesses

Alongside my work at Nintex, I take on independent website projects for businesses around Chattanooga and beyond. I bring the same care to a business website that I bring to larger software systems: understand the problem, make the important things clear, and build something that is practical to maintain.

You work directly with me. We’ll talk through what you need, agree on the scope and costs, and keep the conversation grounded in what will help your business.

My work at Nintex

I’m leading development of an AI-assisted application builder and integrating a React-based design system into an existing frontend platform. I also help define how teams specify, build, and test features using agent-assisted workflows.

How I work

I guide architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and build systems that support low-code and no-code extensibility. My background in engineering management informs how I work with teams, alongside hands-on development in TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.

Beyond software

I studied Computer Science at UC San Diego, where I played Division I men’s volleyball. Outside work, I’m a husband and father, and our house is full of pets.
